  • This beautiful Goddess Mahishasura Mardini painting portrayed in Mysore Painting style has been done by the renowned painter Dr. J. Dundaraja. His works have been exhibited at major shows and art centers in the domestic and international arena. This intricate Mysore painting depicts Goddess Durga in the form of Mahishasura Mardini.  Mahishasura is known among Hindus as a deceitful demon who pursued his evil ways by shape-shifting.  He was the son of Mahisi (Buffalo), and the great-grandson of Brahmarshi Kashyapa. He was ultimately killed by Goddess Durga – after which she gained the epithet Mahishasuramardini (“Slayer of Mahishasura”).
  • A Pioneer in one of the most complicated art forms, Dr. J. Dundaraja is a cherished student of late Y.Subramanya Raju (1907-1995), the court Artist of Shri Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar. He has been honored with multiple awards and certificates for his incredible contributions to this beautiful art such as Honorable Doctorate by Global Virtual Academy for Peace & Education and 2018 Kala Tapaswi Award, etc.
  • Mysore Painting is a form of classical South Indian painting, which evolved in the Mysore city of Karnataka on the lines of Tanjore Paintings.
